Shingle House, Hertfordshire

On the edge of Hertfordshire’s Green Belt, the project was made possible using the paragraph 55 clause of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) released in march 2012. The outcome is a low energy house with triple glazed windows and doors and a green roof and clad in Western Red Cedar shingles. The super insulated sustainable design is oriented to make the best us of the available sunlight. the house is made of structural insulated panels (SIP) constructed off-site, for quick on-site erection. the 4-5 bedroom house is 338sqm (3640sqft) in area.
